Since hitting two last week, Alex has come up with quite a few new things to say. When he was caught after wandering off at the park he came out with "I wanted to play." That's a popular quote this week. Time for nap? "Want to play trucks." Time for clean up. "Want to play bus." Time to go. "Want to play blocks."
A couple of days ago I was busy talking with a woman at Staples about getting the programs copied for the dance recital. Alex turned to me put his finger to my mouth and said "No, no, no." When I finished talking I turned to him and told him it was not nice to say "no" to mommy like that. He said "No talk. No boss, mom. No boss."
I'm sure that next time I'll be prepared with some sort of inspiring wisdom that will keep him on the straight and narrow, but this time I found it pretty funny. Of course, I know to never let on about that. :)
Here are a few of my favorite recent pictures of Alex. Strawberry picking and laughing on the train ride with his big friend Nathan. Alex was great at strawberry picking until he realized that his bucket could also hold grass and rocks. I took the rocks out before the strawberries were weighed, of course, and thankfully we didn't have to pay for the well-smushed strawberries either.
