Two days ago I was contacted by a book publisher who saw our Disney vacation photos up at Flickr. She said she was interested in using one or more of our photos in a book they're releasing -- it's sort of a Disney World travel guide for the scrapbooking set, from what I understand.
At first, I was a little skeptical of the request. I had a vague idea it might be like one of those scams where you get your name entered in the latest edition of Who's Who in [BLAHBLAHBLAH] if you agree to buy a copy of the book for $99. However, I did a little research and it appears to be the real thing. They won't pay us for using the photos, but we'll get a free copy of the book once it's published.
The book, entitled Scrapbooker's Guide to Walt Disney World, is slated for release in fall '06. I thought it was cool that anyone outside our family took an interest in our little vacation photos. But, with Ruby ranking so high on the cuteness index, I suppose these things are to be expected.
I'll post more info when the book is released. I told the publisher I could probably guarantee a handful of sales to certain grandparent-types.
